Morenci State II (1999) represents the artist’s continued exploration of the same composition in a lighter, more ethereal palette. This variation features the kneeling Navajo woman rendered in predominantly cream and white tones with minimal color saturation, creating an almost ghost-like, contemplative presence. The fabric drapes with the same graceful elegance as State I, but with an emphasis on subtle modeling and form rather than warm color.
