Artwork Handling
Shipping & Care
Guidance for shipping, receiving, unrolling, framing, and protecting official R.C. Gorman Navajo Gallery limited editions and original artwork.
Shipping Guidance
Handle fine art paper with care from delivery to framing.
When purchasing an Official R.C. Gorman Navajo Gallery Limited Edition from the website, you will receive the next available number, artist proof, or presentation proof in sequence. Original unframed artwork is carefully rolled and shipped in large protective tubes, a method used by the gallery for more than 40 years.
Sign for delivery
Protective tubes must be signed for upon delivery. Inspect shipping materials carefully and keep packaging until the artwork is safely reviewed.
Do not store rolled
Fine art should not remain rolled for more than 30 days. Plan professional framing soon after receipt.
Use a professional framer
Original artwork is fragile. A slight bend in the paper can create permanent damage, so have a professional remove, unroll, and handle the work.
Need assistance?
If you need help with delivery, handling, or care instructions for your artwork, contact the gallery before attempting to flatten, frame, or transport it yourself.
Care reminders
- Keep artwork away from moisture and direct sun during unpacking.
- Do not use tape, weights, or improvised flattening methods.
- Save documentation, edition details, and shipping records.
- Ask about archival framing materials before presentation.
Next Step
Protect the work before display.
