Woman with Chili Peppers is a 1976 R.C. Gorman stone lithograph of harvest abundance. A woman sits with red chilies in her hand and a bowl of peppers at her side, her white blouse and pink skirt with its red trim lighting up against violet hills that roll into the distance. The artist’s signature marks the lower left of this early print, whose warmth and humor anticipate the beloved chili images of Gorman’s later catalog.
From an edition of 76, this lithograph is a fine early example for collectors of R.C. Gorman prints, Southwest harvest imagery, and the chili-pepper theme the gallery’s gift collection would later celebrate.
