Certificate of Authenticity
Official documentation for collectors who need an R.C. Gorman artwork reviewed by the gallery and the R.C. Gorman Estate.
Collector Documentation
Request formal review and documentation for your artwork.
A Certificate of Authenticity is designed for collectors who need formal estate-backed documentation for an R.C. Gorman artwork. Gather the details you have, then send clear reference images so the gallery can determine the next step.
When this service helps
Use this request when you own an R.C. Gorman work and need confirmation that it is original, or when a prior certificate has been misplaced or damaged.
What to prepare
Include the full image, a close-up of the signature, the edition name or number, dimensions excluding frame and mat, and any provenance or bill-of-sale details.
Important review note
For a completed Certificate of Authenticity, artwork must be shipped to or brought into the Scottsdale or Santa Fe gallery for in-person review.
Submission Guide
Before you submit the form
Certificates of Authenticity generally range from $150 to $250 per artwork. After the form is submitted, an art specialist will contact you by email or phone to discuss your piece, image requirements, delivery options, and whether a certificate is appropriate for the artwork.
- Photograph the entire artwork in good light.
- Photograph the artist signature clearly.
- Photograph the edition name or number, if present.
- Measure the artwork itself, excluding frame and mat.
- Add comments for each image if condition, marks, or provenance details need explanation.
