Anasazi Jar

Anasazi Jar is a 1988 R.C. Gorman lithograph pairing a Navajo woman wrapped in a richly pigmented wine-red blanket with a large Anasazi-style black-on-white pottery jar whose stepped fret, triangle, and spiral designs are drawn with archaeological precision. The woman reclines against the vessel with her head gently resting on her arm, her white underskirt pooling beside the pot and her dark hair tied with a white bow. A peach-to-lavender sunset gradient softens the whole scene. From an edition of 200 (approx. 35 x 26.5 in.), this lithograph is a prized Gorman Pueblo-pottery work that speaks to collectors of Anasazi art, Southwest pottery imagery, and late-1980s R.C. Gorman lithographs.
