Canyon Harvest, a 1984 R.C. Gorman serigraph, is a striking triptych composition of three kneeling Navajo women gathered in a loose circle, each cradling a small vividly colored textile bundle of turquoise, orange-red, and burgundy respectively. Rendered with Gorman’s signature elegant contour linework and soft wash of cream flesh tones on a luminous ivory ground, the three figures form a tender tableau of communal harvest and pottery work. Just above, a distant row of pueblo rooftops and adobe walls is lightly drawn at the top of the sheet, grounding the scene in its Southwest setting. Signed and numbered from a limited edition, Canyon Harvest is an exceptional acquisition for collectors of Gorman serigraphs, Navajo community imagery, and Southwest fine art prints.
