De La Noche, a 1991 R.C. Gorman serigraph, depicts a Navajo woman lying asleep on the desert ground beneath a star dotted deep blue night sky. She wears a vibrant magenta pink blouse with bold lavender shading, its sleeves stretched out along the warm terracotta earth, while a pale gray white blanket drapes across her hips and legs with delicate violet folds. Her dark hair falls in a thick braid past her shoulder and one bare golden foot peeks out from beneath the blanket wearing a small black and ivory ankle bracelet. The scene is rendered in Gorman’s signature flat serigraph color fields with strong black contour lines. Signed and numbered, De La Noche is a centerpiece acquisition for collectors of Gorman night scenes and Native American fine art prints.
