Deseo (The Wish), a 1995 R.C. Gorman lithograph, is a poetic composition in which a Navajo woman sits wrapped in a shimmering lavender purple shawl and blows a dandelion puff from her open palm, scattering translucent seeds on the wind. She wears a coral red blouse beneath the shawl and a saffron yellow skirt that drapes into a soft orange fold around her extended leg and bare foot. A turquoise drop earring rests at her ear, her dark hair gathered into a low chignon. A second dandelion plant blooms at her knees and the sky graduates from violet blue at the top through peach and lavender at the horizon. Signed and numbered, Deseo is a true gallery showpiece for collectors of Gorman storytelling lithographs and Native American figurative prints.
